Appointment of new Responsible Individual

From 1st May 2021, Andrea O'Loughlin has been promoted to serve as the designated Responsible Individual for Integra.

After more than 17 years in the role, Peter Max stepped down from being RI on the 30th April 2021.  This followed a long-term and agreed “succession plan” for his Integra responsibilities after it became part of the NCG family in May 2019.

Having handed over his Regional Operations Manager responsibilities to Rob Tooze last year, it was a natural evolution for Andrea O’Loughlin to become the designated Responsible Individual with effect from 1st May.  Andrea is already the most senior manager based within the region of Wales, is the clinical lead for Integra and has a close working relationship with Rob Tooze as the Regional Operations Manager for Wales and the South West.

What does designated Responsible Individual mean?

It means Andrea has been appointed as Responsible Individual by NCG (following an interview from NCG and on behalf of the Integra board) and will remain designated until she is formally confirmed as RI by Care Inspectorate Wales in due course.

Peter Max said: "Having worked with Andrea for many years at board level, originally with her as Operations Director, and more recently as an Area Operations Manager and Clinical Lead for Integra as part of NCG, I am very confident Andrea will be a good RI and continue to work well with Rob, as Integra’s ongoing Regional Operations Manager, the executive directors, and alongside Laura and all the rest of the regional leadership, clinical and support office team."

Departing RI Comments from Peter Max

Peter paid tribute to the work of the Integra team within NCG in an email to all Integra staff in his last day as Responsible Individual:

"I look back and think about what we all have achieved over the years – both within the region and with the support of the wider NCG team.  It is a lot – especially the fantastic outcomes our team has helped individuals achieve and the positive impact we have had.  You should all feel very proud of yourselves for what you have done and do.

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your contribution to the work we do in NCG.  I am not going to name anyone as there are so many I would like to thank personally, but in coming weeks I hope to speak to many of you to do so (either on the visits to services as part of the handover to Andrea or on the phone).

I wish each and every one of the NCG team, locally in Wales and nationally, every success for the future in the important work we do to support our individuals to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals."
