Our responses to some questions asked by members of the community
Q: What registrations does Integra have?
A: Integra's residential care homes are registered with Care Inspectorate Wales to support adults over 18 with enduring mental health needs. Integra is also separately registered to provide domiciliary care in South Wales (i.e. to visit individuals in their own homes).
Q: Why might someone need Integra's service?
A: Whether as a result of injury, life experience or disposition, our clients may be people who have become vulnerable in some way and who will benefit from boundaried support to regain the activities of daily living and to develop their independence in the community.
Q: Where are the Integra homes?
A: You wouldn't necessarily realise there was an Integra home in your area. Our homes do not stand out as different in any way, although internally they have been adapted to meet care home standards (including fire regulations). Our homes are located across south Wales in Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Swansea Local Authority areas.
Q: Are the individuals you support a danger to others or themselves?
A: Irrespective of their mental health diagnosis, all our clients have been assessed as safe and stable to live in the community by their NHS clinicians and by Integra's admissions panel. All of our clients will have been either living in the community or visiting the community unsupported for a period of time prior to their admission.
We do not accept referrals for paedophiles.
We do not accept referrals for any individual who requires physical security.
Our clients generally require support and rehabilitation in respect of activities that most of us take for granted such as shopping, cleaning and cooking. This is our focus and we are proud of our track record in supporting clients to move on to greater independence and to live sustainably in the community.
Q: Is the home a drug and alcohol rehabilitation service?
A: No. Our focus is on supporting individuals whose primary diagnosis is that of mental ill health.
